Company Background CUAN was formed in 1974 by a local businessman and went to become a wholly owned subsidiary of Guinness plc from 1977 until 1992.The company was then taken over by the management, Dr. J. Parsons and J. McElreavey, both of whom have been with Cuan for over 20 years. Cuan was one of the first commercial producers of Pacific oysters in the British Isles, pioneering culture methods for very small hatchery-reared oyster seed. The company has been at the forefront of oyster marketing for 20 years, and now handles over 400 tonnes of oysters each year. Specialising in Direct Sales of high quality product, Cuan supply many top hotels and restaurants around the world, delivering fresh Oysters as far afield as the Mediterranean, Singapore, even Hong Kong.
